SLAPPED!

HumanNewbornGod will correct us with pain.  Whether we accept it or not, the pain allowed by our heavenly Father validates us as His true sons and daughters.  Just as the startling slap to the infant’s bottom at birth wakes the infant into a new reality, so does our pain awaken us to the foolish extremes in which we often live.

Sessions in Pain, pg.145

Physician do not necessarily slap infants on the behind today but they rub them vigorously to take that first breath; but the results are the same – a startling touch to elicit a response needed for life. Oh to be slapped or rubbed by the Father!  I’ve been there as He shook me awake to the truth. Just like an infant at birth who needs that stimulation to take its first breath and inflate their lungs for the first time, God will inflate our understanding through trials and the “unexpectancies” of life. He is a good Father who is ever teaching those He loves – that’s everyone on the planet. We come through the hard days screaming but also exercising our lungs of faith that  inhale and exhale the breath of God!
